Feb 12-14 - Winter Retreat

7-12th graders will be taking off for the annual Winter Retreat at Camp Carl Feb 12-14th. Pray for our kids and youth leaders on this important time. Cost is just $35 and you can help by supplying meals and/or snacks. See the information table.

Tuesday Men's Group
All men are invited to a Tuesday sermon discussion group at Starbucks in Aurora @ 4pm. We discuss the chapter for the upcoming week’s sermon.

Womens Reading Group
First Thursday at 1:30pm Pease’s. Think of this as a Literary Swap Meet where you can bring a book, discuss a book and swap your book for another that somebody else enjoyed.

Youth Super Bowl Party
Though the college football season is winding down, the NFL is ramping up toward its final event. Feb 7 we’ll watch the best of the best duel for precious rings of gold. Join us as we watch on our 120” screen, starting at 6pm. Bring snacks. Drinks provided.

Food Pantry Needs Volunteers
The Food Pantry is seeking help for one week per month from 1:00 pm - 4:00pm Mon -Friday to contact and schedule appointments with Food Pantry clients as well as being present during the 20-30 minute intervals while the client selects their food items. Haiti Relief
If you’d like to give toward the relief efforts in Haiti, Samaritan’s Purse is a reputable decidedly Christian agency whose is actively working there. You see updates of their work and give online at www.samaritanspurse.org.

This Sunday Feb 7- David's Best and Worst Day (2 Samuel 24)
Today we wrap up David's biography with a story that shows David's great weaknesses and great strengths all wrapped up in a single story.  Next week we start a 2-week review of our Four Corners of church history, and after that... The Gospel of John.

Sunday Mornings
Two different Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) meet at 9:00 AM as well as Youth classes for Jr. and Sr. High. And our TinkerTown Kids meet at 9:00 AM as well as children's church during Worship at 10:30 AM.  Adult Bible Fellowships provide a place for community and fellowship that is virtually impossible in the large group worship service.  ABFs are where we care for each other and get to know each other on an informal basis. Our nursery is a caring environment that allows parents to enjoy an ABF.  There is something for the entire family. Come grow with us!

Worship is at 10:30 AM. All Sunday activities are at Streetsboro Middle School. [map]

SALT ABF
We will be focusing on spiritual gifts and finding individual purpose within the Christian/church community. It will be very hands-on so that hopefully everybody will leave having a better understanding of how they specifically can begin to fulfill their own role or purpose to benefit the church or community. Hope to see you Sunday at 9am.

SGS ABF
Please come and join the ‘Studying God’s Story’ Adult Bible Fellowship class. We study both Old and New Books of the Bible and have discussions on their meaning. Any age from 20 up are welcome to join in getting to know each other and the Bible better. Join us on any Sunday you like.

What's an ABF?
We currently have 2 ABFs that meet weekly (currently we’re not meeting weekly). Normally ABFs meet before church at the 9:00 hour and provide a place for people to connect on a more personal level than you can in a regular service. ABFs are where a lot of the care ministry of the church takes place. It’s where you start to get to know people and develop a sense of community. Once we get into our regular format, it would be a great time to visit or revisit an ABF. The format includes group prayer, interactive teaching, and sharing. You won’t be put on the spot or forced to participate if you’re the quieter type.

Building Update!
Yes we have all our permits! Yes, we’re working as much as we want now. Yes, we need your help to make good progress. No, you don’t have to be an expert to help. Yes, there’s a lot of work to be done, but nothing terribly daunting.

Yesterday 6 volunteers moved doors, hung windows, removed cabinets, built walls and took out a lot of trash. Talk to Gary about how and when you can help. 330-842-4255.

• Rock babies to sleep in the nursery
• Volunteer your skills and labor to help remodel the church
• Shake hands and collect offering as a greeter/usher.

Vacuum on Steroids
After we occupy our building we’ll be assembling a rotating team of households to do a weekly cleaning. If you’d be willing to do this as a family every 8 weeks or so, it would be a great way to teach service to your kids in a practical way. We’ll have a list of chores you can cross off as you go. Watch for sign-ups soon.
