Tinker's Creek Parents,
The longer I live here the more things I have come to appreciate, it really is beautiful this time of year. The few trees that are left with leaves on them look even more spectacular against the bareness.
Just a reminder about Wednesday nights for the rest of 2005. Defer Intermediate school has their parent teacher conferences for the next two weeks and we are taking our trimester break in December. So we won't be meeting through the end of the year on Wednesday's including tomorrow night. We'll start back up Jan 4, 2006, so we look forward to that.
In the mean time don't forget about YBF on Sunday morning at Aurora high school. We're continuing our way through the Holy Spirit study and will move on shortly to the Trinity, covering some of the basics of our faith.
We have several activities planned as well.
Sat Nov 19 we will go out to Camp Carl for the first annual 'Turkey Bowl'. This is a game of flag football with a frozen turkey in honor of the season. I'm sure you read my feeble attempt at humor in the bulletin. For those that didn't get it, it's the students that will be the frigid animals because we're playing outside... ha, ha, and we're playing with a frozen turkey too. ha. Anyway... it's going to be a good time. We'll meet at the church office in Streetsboro at 12:30pm and be back to the office at 5:00pm. It all depends on the weather, but remind them to dress warm and probably bring a change of clothes in case we get wet and/or muddy, we'll play rain or snow.
Dec - We are also looking at having an allnighter during the first week of Christmas break, giving them plenty of time to recover before family time over Christmas. I'm still working on a place to make that happen, which will determine times as well, so I'll keep you posted on that one. I did mean to say ALLnighter, I'm not sure why I meant it, but I did.
We are also trying to get students to bring money for Opperation Christmas Child. Every year they send shoe boxes full of gifts and supplies to needy children around the world. They use this opportunity of meeting needs to spread the love of Christ. With the money that the students donate we're going to go shopping Nov 19 before the turkey bowl at the dollar store in Streetsboro and buy as much as we can and fill as many shoe boxes as we can. This Sunday Nov 13 is the last day to bring money for that, however, they can bring it with them if they want to help shop too.
Pass this on to other parents, I'll put it on the website with all the others that I've sent and Nancy is going to print a few of them and have copies at the information table as well.
