MT Day 5

Tinker's Creek Parents,
I'm sure by this point some of you are thinking the empty nest thing won't be so bad, and you're thinking, "what kids?" ;) Seriously though, I hope your week is going as well as ours.
Thank you all for praying for us, the students are still energized and have a vision of getting as much done as possible at the work site, even though we've had four long, hard days. We were on a roll this afternoon, so more than half our group stayed an extra hour to finish up another section of the siding. Our goal is to have 3 sides of the house completely sided before we leave. (we would shoot for all four but the ground is still torn up in the front because of sewer issues so we can't work out there).
Tomorrow we also hope to complete the shed out back. We almost finished the roof today, but it got too hot in the afternoon. Almost all of our energy has been devoted to the siding today because they aren't done with the drywall yet, so we might get to paint inside tomorrow.
The mother and daughter stopped by today and a few of our students got to talk to them. The family that is "getting a hand up" with this house is really excited to see the progress over the last week. They will most likely be working on the house tomorrow since they have the day off (and are required to put in so many hours on their own house to qualify for the hand up)
At this point I know the students understand the progress we've made on the work itself, but I hope that spending time with the family today and tomorrow will help them see how their service is being used by God in their lives.
We still have a long day ahead of us tomorrow, so continue to pray for your students relationships with each other, that they would be careful with their words toward and about each other. And that they would make the next step of seeing how their physical labor can be used by God.
