MT Day 4

Hey all,

We just got back from the beach again... 3 evenings, 3 different beaches.  The water was a bit chilly tonight but we jumped in none the less.  We had a great time watching a beautiful sunset while debriefing the day and talking about how we've seen God at work on the trip.

One of the things that we prayed about this morning as a group was for opportunities to talk to the neighbors around the house we're working on.  Not necessarily to share the gospel, but at least let them know why we're working on the house and to be salt and light in the neighborhood, even for those we aren't directly helping.

Several of the girls made cookies this morning and were able to talk to the neighbors because of that.  But there was also a neighbor boy that started hanging around this afternoon, obviously bored with summer break already, so several students jumped in a played with him for a while, but even got a chance to let him know why we were helping build the house even though we live in another state.

Everyone is still in a good mood, even after three tough days of hard labor.  The projects are starting to slow down as we get higher with the siding and have to use ladders, and as we wait for the dry wallers to finish.  However, we did almost complete a shed for the back yard today, so that was encouraging.

Tomorrow we hope to be able to start painting inside, finish more siding and finish the roof on the shed.

Thanks,
Kasey Parmelee
