Rotation Model
Our innovative approach to Kids Ministry utilizes the gifts and interests of a wide variety of adults.
We have modeled our Sunday School after "The Workshop Rotation Model" or WORM www.rotation.org

Heres how it works:  Our "Sunday School Teachers" (in TinkerTown we call them Classroom Coordinators) teach major Bibles stories and concepts through kid-friendly workshops: Artie's Gallery (Arts & Crafts), Otterdo Park (Games), Wonder-Why Workshop (Science), The Maker's Bakery (Cooking), Melody Maker's Music Shoppe (Music), and T & T Railroad (Story Time).  The Classroom Coordinator teaches the the same Bible story in all of the workshops.  Currently we have a four week Workshop and  two age groups. Pre "K" and "K", are children ages 3 to 5, and  the "School-Agers", are children in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.  We keep the same teacher in each workshop for two weeks, teaching the same lesson both weeks with some age appropriate adjustments.

Some of the benefits for having the rotation model as our wonderful way of conducting Sunday School are: Kids are rarely bored.  Teachers are rarely bored. Teachers like to have their own time for Adult Bible Classes. Cost of curriculum is lower. New way of learning through repetition and taught from the five senses, rather than through a workbook and lecturing.

In TinkerTown we're looking for adults who would be interested in leading 1 month workshop (2 weeks) per year. That's right, 1 workshop per year. If you would like more information, contact Pastor McClellan, or Wendy Hirt. Application and background checks are required.
